East Pool

East Pool Renovations

The Competitive Pool (also know as the East Pool) was originally built in 1974. Time has taken it's toll on this wonderful pool. In April of 2005 and 2006, two separate leaks were found and repaired. In April of 2007, another leak formed along the floor of the pool. The leak was repaired, but due to the pool not having water during the winter, a pipe ruptured. The pool also was plagued with poor circulation due to out-of-date construction design.

In November of 2007, the Supervisors of Upper Leacock Township voted unanimously to repair the pool. The pool will get up-to-date circulation system as well as new decking, complete examination of structure, new pumps and control units. The pool will be resealed and surfaced as well as tile inlaid lane markers and targets for competitive swimming.

This site will track the progress of the pool with regular updates and photos. The East Pool is set to open the last week of June, 2008. The recreation and tot pools will open as scheduled over Memorial Weekend. A swim team scheduled is being developed.
